Where to Brunch in Hoboken, NJ
[Welcome to April’s BRUNCH WITH JOVIE series where I share the best of brunch in NJ]
Today, I’m sharing some brunch picks in Hoboken for when you want the NYC feel but don’t want to pay the tolls.
1314 Washington St
This little wine bar packs a fun brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. For $29 per person, the deal gets you 1 appetizer, an entree, zeppoles and a brunch cocktail. Additional cocktails and beer are $3 for 90 minutes. I’m a big fan of calamari and sometimes it’s hard to find some that don’t taste frozen and too chewy but Bin 14 gets it right. The bin Benedict is good too.
908 Washington Street
Amanda’s is a great spot to get a group together to celebrate a special occasion over brunch. The menu has your classics but keeps things interesting with items like their short rib burger with avocado aioli and the lobster agnolotti with parmesan broth. Drinks aren’t included in any special deals - mimosas are $8, bloody Mary’s $9 and bellinis $10.
500 Grand Street
Every time I have plans to brunch at Grand Vin, the plans change last minute. So while I haven’t been, I’ve only heard good things about their fig & brie burger and the mimosa flights.
Del Frisco’s Grille
221 River St.
I’m not usually a fan of chains but Del Frisco’s won my basic b heart over with their al fresco seating and popsicle white sangria. The menu has something for everybody and it’s perfect if you don’t want to be tied down to breakfast foods. The flatbreads are a good place to start and share with the table. The lemon ricotta pancakes are also a win.
Halifax (inside The W Hotel)
225 River St.
The outdoor seating right by the water adds a nice touch to Halifax. The menu is different. You get small plates of everything plus a bottle of Cava and get to order more of anything you really enjoyed. I wrote a full review here.
